This seems like a strong and well made chain hook, and it comes nicely boxed with foam inserts to protect it in transit. I liked that different bright colors were available that will make it easy to find in my truck (I ordered a green one).A few weeks ago I had to get the car pulled out of a muddy spot I shouldn't have ventured into, and I learned that its recovery points don't have holes that are big enough to hook a chain through. I ended up slinging the rear control arm, but that's not ideal. Enter this chain hook - the pin can go through the hole on the recovery point and give me something to get a chain on if I need to get pulled out in the future - no worries about messing up the rear suspension.I just wish that this hook came with a R-clip like you'd see on a hitch pin, that is much easier to use and re-use than the cotter pin you get. Easy enough to pull one from a spare hitch pin, but not everybody will have those just laying around. I'd like to see both included so this is useful like a shackle right out of the box. This is also a little on the high side for cost. A hook with a similar rating goes for about $13 less at the Tractor Store, although it does not include the rubber plug and the casting is much rougher and larger in cross section than the one here on Amazon. It's up to you to decide if the extra accessories and more compact/better quality hook make up for the price difference between the two, but it's hard to beat the convenience of delivery right to your door, and you don't typically get a color selection at the tractor or farm store.
